This site is a space for exploring variations on the physical photographic image. It has begun as a site to showcase my analog photography in printed form, but will slowly evolve into a space where photographic objects by varying artists, and in a wide range of formats, will be found.
Photography is a medium in flux. The advent of the digital camera and the electronic distribution of the images has changed the way people see photographs in profound ways. Images are now more often seen as pixels on a back-lit screen than as the ink or silver on paper. They are seen while sitting at a desk, or looking at a mobile phone. BURNFRAME is an exploration of the alternative ways in which the printed photograph can make its way into people’s lives, from traditional fine-art prints and books to textiles or practical personal objects. This website is a space to share the results of these explorations with the world.
Elsewhere: I put a more extensive selection of my photographic projects online at pixelgrain.org. Head over there and check out The Portrait Booth Project, my entire Polaroid 366 set, my sketchbook, news, updates, travel photos and random other images in pixel-based web format.
